Fairy Tale Park

Visited this week, for the first time ever, this magnificent Rhododendron Park in Helsinki. It was really amazing! In the forest there were Rhodos blooming in pink, white and purple and the size of the bushes was... huge! I felt such a small one there... almost like in a fairy tale...

University of Helsinki planted 3000 rhododendron crossbreeds in the area in 1975. The purpose was to breed rhodos, which would survive in the Finnish climate. Today the park belongs to the city of Helsinki.

  1. It's gorgeous. What a nice idea to plant all those bushes amidst the trees.
