A Swan and Icy Sea

The sea is freezing slowly but surely and the swans are still trying to survive there... This one is probably staying here for the winter. Didn't seem to mind...
According to the forecast it will be really cold in the near future... I don't like at all... Don't know about the swans...

The Sea

The Sea water level has been very high lately in Helsinki due to hard rain and also many very hard storms have been around... On Boxing Day we had a nice sunny day with truly hard wind and storm. Some pics of the sea at sunset time.

Storm

There was quite a storm yesterday... I have never seen such big waves in Finland at sea.
This is maybe not the best pic in quality, a bit blurry...  Maybe you get an idea of the size of the waves anyway.... there was water all over and everywhere... under my feet, in the air, on the camera lens... and the wind... barely could stay standing.,.. But had to get there... and survived...

Haukilahti by Night

Last night I got back from a great dinner at my brothers place in an island close to Haukilahti harbor. It was a wonderful warm summer night and I happened to have my camera with me... Moon was almost full and the sea calm. Beautiful!

The Dog in the Lake

This dog absolutely loves to swim!! I spent this weekend at my friends summerhouse and their dog Misty would just live in the lake... She was diving into the lake from the dock over and over again... Also splashing the water and swimming in rounds and rounds and rounds... It was so much fun to watch! After all this she slept like a baby...

Running Water

Up north in Lapland in Posio at summer time... the creek is beautiful but as the mosquitos are eating you alive if you stop for more than few minutes it is a big challenge to take great photos... have to be really fast and run... this is the result...
